André de Clerk

4x4 Course Juror

Growing up in the farming community of Thabazimbi – Limpopo Province, we were exposed to the outdoor and 4x4 live on a daily basis. My brother and I used to get stuck on the farm on various occasions. Since a very young age I loved the outdoors and the whole 4x4 fraternity. I have done 4x4 and Defensive driver training for BHP Billiton Mine, Optimum Mine, AFS and various other private learners over the past year and a half. I have trained and assessed about 350 learners on US-254135 (Basic 4WD course). We have been training over 400 learners in the hospitality industry – on behalf of Bushwise Field Guides, in Hoedspruit over the past 10 years. I have been involved with many manufactures in the past years to train either staff or customers on their vehicles to better understand either the technology behind their systems or to better handle the vehicles in off-road conditions. We have developed several 4x4 driver training programmes to assist customers with vehicle specific requirements.

He is also the designer and developer of the Mobi•G golf cart He has accumulated extensive knowledge around the towing of caravans on all road and off-road surfaces as part of the R&D to make the Mobi Lodge range of caravans a great towing companion for most towing vehicles.
